A lighting and shading test using Maya's Mental Core render engine.  Its pretty slick!  3D model of crane provided by www.dmi-3d.net

 

A super quick composite where I added a CG car to a still bg image. Lighting and shading was done in Maya and rendered in Mental Ray. Tire tracks were done with particles in Maya as well as road spray from back of car.  Rain was also done with particles in Maya.  Composited in Nuke.
